This study entitled “A Comparative Analysis of File Retrieval In Time Efficiency: Manual and Digital Filing Systems in Office Environments in Parañaque City”, focused on comparing the file retrieval efficiency of manual and digital filing systems in selected government offices in Parañaque City. The study used a quantitative descriptive-comparative research design and involved 100 office staff, administrative personnel, and records custodians who regularly manage and retrieve office documents. A survey questionnaire through Google Forms was used to gather the needed data from the respondents. Statistical methods like frequency, percentages, weighted average, standard deviation, and paired sample t-test have been used to analyze the findings. It was found that the traditional system of filing took more time in the process of searching for files, but the digital system saved more time for accessing documents.. Most respondents reported that manual retrieval takes around 4–6 minutes, while digital retrieval usually takes about 1–3 minutes. The results also indicated a significant difference between the two systems in terms of retrieval efficiency. However, both methods are prone to various problems like delay, technical difficulties, and disorganized record files. From the research, it was found out that both the manual and computerized filing systems have strengths and weaknesses that depend on the needs and circumstances of the particular office. It can be recommended that with better record keeping skills, proper organization, training, and technology, effective file retrieval procedures can be achieved.
