Impact Of Supply Chain Disruption On Small Enterprises During The 2022-2026 Global Conflicts

Abstract

This study focused on the impact of supply chain disruptions on small enterprises in Parañaque City during the 2022–2026 global conflicts. The research aimed to understand how problems such as delivery delays, shortages of products and materials, rising costs, and changing customer demands affected the daily operations and overall performance of small businesses. A descriptive quantitative research design was used in the study, and data were gathered from 100 small business owners and operators from retail, service, and manufacturing businesses through a researcher-made survey questionnaire.

The findings showed that supply chain disruptions greatly affected business operations, customer service, sales, income and business growth. Many respondents experienced delays in deliveries, shortages of supplies and increased operational costs, which made it difficult for them to maintain stable business operations. The study also found that small businesses used different strategies to deal with these problems, such as finding alternative suppliers, using technology and online platforms, adjusting prices and improving delivery methods. These strategies helped businesses continue to operate despite the difficulties caused by global conflicts and economic instabilities.

Furthermore, the results revealed that adaptability, resilience, and proper planning played an important role in helping businesses survive during disruptions. Most respondents also believed that additional support, better access to suppliers, technology assistance, and training programs are important in helping small enterprises become more resilient and sustainable. Overall, the study concluded that although supply chain disruptions created serious challenges for small businesses, effective strategies, flexibility, and support systems can help businesses continue operating and remain competitive during uncertain times.
